Entitlement

Why do students feel that just because they "try," they deserve an A?  I'm so drained from fighting with students.

Merry Christmas!

Well, it's still Christmas here in El Paso.  I hope everyone had a joyous day!

The Weekend in El Paso

We've spent the weekend with my nephews Mikey and Ryan.  We've been playing outside, playing games inside, and went to Chuck E. Cheese today.  One of the games we've been playing is called Ziggity, a Cranium card game, which is pretty fun in a nerdy way.  You have to do math, spell, match puzzles and instruments.

Jaden is getting used to BaoBao (parents' dog) and soon after he wakes up, he looks for him, saying, "Bao bao?  Bao bao?"  He's still gets a little upset by the big wet kisses though.  My brother Mike gets in tomorrow and then the whole family will be together for the next week.  Time is passing too quickly and there is still plenty of grading to be done.    Can't believe it's almost Christmas eve already.  Hope everyone is well and enjoying the holidays.

Winter Break

I'm so thankful for this time off to spend with family.  It's always nice to be home and relax and have some good Chinese cooking.  Unfortunately, I have three books and three sets of lab reports to grade.  I'm almost finished with this one, and good thing it's been an easy, interesting, and somewhat sad read.  I spent a little time reading outside in the sun the past couple of days, so that's been nice.  It's been good to get away from the vicious New England winter, but doesn't quite feel like the Christmas season when it's so warm out.  I just hope I can shake this cold or whatever it is by the time vacation is over.

Jaden's taking a little time getting used to BaoBao the huge German Shepherd, who frequently inadvertently knocks Jaden over and likes to give him big slobbery dog kisses.  But Jaden will go over and pet him every once in awhile, so it's not all hard feelings.

Hope everyone's doing well!

Air Hockey

Jaden spent a little time watching me play, then wanted to get in on the action.
